Looking at the horses form I can see the horse likes the poly more
1400m to short!! 1600m and 1700m is the preferable distance maybe even further

3runs back the 1600m scottsville Dr henry was 5/4 favorite to win with anton Marcus riding...but ran 6.75 lengths of the winner

GRP 1700M...0.70 lengths of the winner
GRP 1600M beaten into second 1.75 lengths of the winner

After the scottsville run with Anton on...the horse had like a 5month rest

Returned for a barrier trail. Then a run at scottsville 1400m
Today back to the poly 1600m...

Counting the barrier trail and the scottsville 1400run today is the peak 3rd run!!

I cannot argue with your logic, but even at 25/1 I would not have backed for the following reason.... Lance Pagel. In the past two years he has ridden 4 winners from 223 rides. This season he is 1 from 72.

Lol wws hoping he was gonna start 2019 of with a bang

Form book out the window today.
Inside information needed or just go by the betting(too late for exotic punters though).
Haddington 22-1 into 11-1 wins.
What A Scorcher 25-1(after scratching) into 8-1 wins.
Sandpath 18-1 into 5-1 wins.
Gorgeous Guest 11-1 into 9-2 wins.
All had poor recent form.
Amazing how trainers can all of a sudden get their horses right on the first day of the new year.
