That is motivation enough why they should have stopped leasing/renting Scottsville. Why would anyone in their right mind sell a free -hold house to go and rent one:blink:
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Following the abandonment of today’s race meeting at Greyville, due to inclement weather and unsafe underfoot conditions, Gold Circle and the National Fixtures Committee are pleased to announce that an additional race meeting will be staged at Greyville Race Course on Sunday, 28 October 2018.

That Sunday also features the Algoa Cup race meeting at Fairview Race Course in Port Elizabeth and racing fans can look forward to an exciting double-header on the final Sunday of the month.

The racing programme for the added fixture will be finalised in due course and be distributed to stake-holders during the course of tomorrow, Thursday 18 October.

Following the running of the Barrier Trial, concern was raised with regard to a patch which developed at the 500 metre mark. A panel was formed in terms of the Rules and a track
inspection followed.

The panel having inspected the track after the harrows had been through, was of the opinion that the affected area was inconsistent in relation to the area’s leading up to and away from it.

There was also a concern regarding a patch at the 1200 metre mark.

In the interest of safety, the race meeting was abandoned.
