The problem in Mauritius is that there are a few decent jocks riding but more very average jockeys.The pace either seems to be too fast or too slow.

I agree wholeheartedly. That is exactly what i observed.

I have been battling to find a decent jockey, for a while, to ride in Mauritius but to no avail.
Because of the injury to 4 of our top jockeys, the lesser jockeys seems to be getting more rides in South Africa. The recent issue with regards to our jockeys in Mauritius also scares them.
