Lovely weather for a fantastic day of racing - going should be absolute spot on as well .... thoughts:
R2: Nice competitive start to the BP - I thought Atyaab the one to beat, with My Boi Caloi the value at current odds
R3: Celtic Sea looks the right one, but Ghaalla will give her a race
R4: Bold Eagle's race to lose; Affranchi finished a length off BE in their debuts, so could be the exacta horse; Chimichuri Run has the come-on look, but I find it a bit strange that neither Bling or Lyle is on him; Mr Flood also impressive in his debut win, so could be the dark horse; either go with the favorite, or include just about the field in the opening leg of the P6
R5: Green Pepper looks the right one and has an obvious chance - could be beatable though imo; not a lot between Tahini, Spring Wonder and Heaps of Fun on their runs in Feb; Myfunnyvalentine and Arissa also in form, and the 2 yr old is a must inclusion imo; then Green Plains and Covered in Snow - again need to choose between the two favorites or else go wide
R6: Open race as nothing is sure to stay; I think both the van Zyl runners Pilgrim's Progress and Azkur are very well in here and could make the more fancied runners pick up their feet - but obviously Takingthepeace, Green Top, Sliver Thursday and Secret Potion have to be considered; Cashel Palace a dark horse while Chariot of Gold has more to do imo
R7: Lies between the top 4 - again a bit of a guess as to which one will stay the best; Royal Crusade, Cash Time and perhaps The Rocketman upset material
R8: Sergeant Hardy should win if he can bring his A-game; I think the Tarry runners will fight it out, while Champagne Haze has an upset chance
R9: Very interesting - obviously Legal Eagle the one to beat; the question is whether somebody will make this a true run 2000, (maybe Fort Ember) in which case LE may be vulnerable; at the odds I think Silvan Star and Safe Harbour look nice each-way value; while Nother Russia obviously can't be ignored - I just feel that she has had a few tough races and it could cost her
R10: I prefer Wind Chill over the 2000 - should be the right one here
R11: Just Cruised In won very nicely last time and looks set to follow up at these weights
R12: Have a beer and watch the rugby
