The part that completely amazes me is that here we have a trainer openly expressing his dislike for barrier trials and one who thinks its a good idea plus an ex trainer in Craig supporting it whilst most owners who are on this forum seem to dislike them. So what the hell happened to democracy??? Get everyone together have a vote and get on with it or get rid of it WTF! But again I say if you going to do it do it properly!!.

Craig
When u compare Showjumping on Poly to Horseracing on Poly, I am amazed, to say the least...

There are TWO issues or negatives, that ALWAYS crop up when you meet people who know nothing about horseracing. I call them the 2 "C's"....
CRUELTY and CROOKED.
Those are the perceptions that people have of Horseracing, out there.

It is CROOKED when a horse is not given every chance and encouragement to win. It is also against the rules of Racing.

It is CRUEL to have to drug a horse in order to get through a gallop. This is why, after about a year of no testing, NHA now do test horses in BT's.

So, now, BT's are not cruel anymore just crooked. That is the perception....

Louis, please read what I said. I said that just as an aside about polytrack. You have to look and listen to everything and that's what is happening in showjumping so I thought the people who read ABC would be interested. I would love to see the times shortened a little over 1000m but then would have to have different distances for stayers.

Any reason why the winner of race 4 today at Greyville never had to Barrier trial again?

I see it attracted cash in the betting also

Got granted an exemption. Written has SD on sahorseracing.

Her half sibling Wynkelder also won on debut.

.....just watched todays trial.... as I liked some of the peds in this heat.....I would be hard pressed to award an Oscar to the best poser trying not to show up their mount.....needless to say my selections all finished in the frame....but I would not be rushing out to label them in a real race....for fear that some of the no shows will trounce them....:S

I understand (or misunderstand :-)) that Winx never won a barrier trial.
