She didn't have a great trip. Was fighting for her head the first 2 furlongs. Only settled behind on the turn.

She would not be asked too many questions by Bella imo.

Perhaps the best filly we have seen in at least a decade?

She's beaten the 102 rated Star Express by 2 lengths and best filly in a decade? Okay

Worked very hard to get to the front and bumped a couple horses on the way. Can only beat what's in front of you

MasterOfMyFate wrote: Great run and I'm happy he's proved himself but how frustrating must he be for the trainer and owner - all the ability but will always be at a disadvantage due to his slow starts and dismal gate speed. Will basically always have to come from 20 lengths off  while Eyes Wide Open can sit 3 lengths off them turning for home

He was no more than 4 lenghs behind Eyes wide open turning for home. Field was quite compact and he had no traffic problems ... beaten fair and square .
Chill my friend , we win and lose , thats racing .
Enjoy it

For what its worth the Ebony Flyer that beat Igugu in the fillies Guineas is definitely the best filly in SA i've seen run up till now - can't comment on those that ran before that time of course.

She is entitled to improve many lengths being a 3 year old running against older fillies for the first time.
Not only that, with a better run race for her, she wins by your "3, 4, 5 lengths".........

Let's talk again in 6 months.

One person will be right, the other not.

My day has been made with Eyes Wide Open and all his detractors . I knew he would proove himself and the rest would eat their words .

I said Ebony Flyer was the best I've seen since she ran. When did I say she was the best the country had seen? Hope this doesn't end up like your Simply Royal winning a grade 1 in 5 weeks prediction.
