We are setting the bar too low...the ANC did splendidly compared to the apartheid government and CR will surely do better than JZ...but is this what we want the benchmarks to be ?

The ANC government receive more than R1 trillion in taxes in its many guises and should surely have done more with the efficient use of those funds...the apartheid government collected about 1/6th or 1/7th of what revenue collections are now and yet total debt accumulated during the apartheid years was +-R400 billion...our total debt is now close to R2 trillion and climbing...an increase of R1.6 trillion in 20+ years...we pay more for our interest on debt than the apartheid government collected in taxes...

In summary, what we are doing is unsustainable no matter who in the ANC leads (rules?)

@mydada...it is unquestioned that the lives of the majority have improved and much has to do with our starting point...things could only get better !!

One should rather be asking / expecting if more could have been done with the resources at the disposal of the ANC government? And if the leaders (wannabe rulers?) weren't so inclined with feeling entitled to improving their personal circumstances first, I opine that much more could have been accomplished. Mahatma Gandhi once said that we have more than enough for everyone's needs but not enough for a few people's greed and no-where is it more evident than in our own environments

I care little for the corruption of foreign governments as they do not pilfer my taxes. I give my taxes as a citizen for it to be used to help my fellow countrymen/women who are unable to make a monetary contribution or cannot provide / pay for the basics required by themselves - I do not give it so that leaders, who are already paid salaries and perks from those taxes, decide to take more than they are entitled to

This has little to do with colour as you insinuated in one of your posts - it is about right and wrong and principle has no colour...some of what the ANC and it's leaders have done is wrong and the sooner they admit it, the better all of SA will be - the ANC seems to have become the perfect meeting ground for arrogance and ignorance and the NEC had some real 'luminaries' therein - a case in point being an ex-Deputy Minister, who admitted guilt in assaulting 2 females, being placed in the top 30 or so - surely the ANC and its members can do better for the benefit of all of us...especially the poor, aged, ill, unemployed, etc

Cyril is going to have his hands full trying to please the 3 Zuma cronies in his top 6. These will NOT make his life easier and there is a chance that these 3 WILL still do the bidding for JZ,

CR is talking about UNITY...... with whom.
The ANC is shredded....ANCWL not interested IN CR... JZ camp and his lot not interested ....ALL I CAN SAY....YOU WILL BE STARING ADVERSITY IN THE FACE
