Nine horse field, and if the MR's are to be believed, should have put that field/them to sleep, no excuses, think about it. Maybe he hasn't kicked on as a 4 year old, injuries taken into account. What was the Peter Kannemeyer horse that won the Met (20/1) after being hacked/injured, and taken out in the closing stages of the July, the race Space Walk (i think) won on an objection? This (horse) could turn out to be a similar scenario.

Understood Bayern - yes maybe he hasn't. He didn't look good going down anyway so I hope he's back to his best for the big two races coming up.

No idea about the space walk July year - that was the year I was born so I really don't know :lol:

Gold Standard is more like State Crown. Ran third in the Cape Guineas and Cape Derby to Jay Peg. Won the Winter Guines got injured and never performed after that.

Did not win the Queens Plate. Won the Schweppes Challenge over 1600m in the year he won the Met as a 7yo.

Sorry thought it was the Queens plate , one of my favourites of all time, how he came back to even racing waas a miricle.
