are there options that will not be subject to manipulation or one that doesn't offer an unfair advantage regarding exotics

.....was a bit distracted last night so was not able to react....heard from the kitchen fav scratched
and was making my way to the laptop to make some cover bets and they jumped....are we bitching because no time was allocated to have bets changed....or did the starter jump the gun and send the horses off.....does he/she punt....have a JP loaded against the fav....why no pause
.....was he under duress to meet a schedule.....I hardly ever banker and normally have cover for such events....did not have a JP but as said in a rush would have put field and left the rest just as I had in P6....online punting is a fast reaction and bets can be delivered in an instant....but that starter was a lot faster.....

Stipes report say they made the decision,, a bad one in most people's books, they make a weak attempt to justify it by saying the fillies had stood for quite a while,,, Phumelela was created to take care of racing but they have manipulated it so that Racing looks after Phumelela,, let them make slightly less profit per year but look after the game, Chris Van Niekerk while owning shares also owns horses so he wants racing to thrive so I believe he will make things happen,, the brass will definitely listen when he talks,, all we want is to fix the game so we all have fair play

Correct - Who are the Regulators and who is Regulated ?

As for your owner story - Dont hold your breath - Why do you think after being a Director of PG Bison and CTS and wanted a Marquee put up that he worried about 40 year old trees.

I applaud your efforts my friend but feel because you are a good man that you trust to many people Mr A.

Go do some investigation on Court Cases against PG Bison re Forests in the WC while he was with PG Bison.

i may be wrong but in uk racing they don't give punters a chance to change bets should the fav get scratched at the start, what's the rule there?

two minutes to restructure bets is too little anyway i think a more effective solutions is needed...(i took my jackpot and left the tote either way i was doomed)

Not sure if this is possible.if any runner is scratched at the start should automatically be included in the dividends for the exotics.how this will be done I am not sure.

Nice idea in theory, in practice would be manipulated to give insiders an unfair advantage. Just imagine all the cripples in Kimberley. You could win a straight line P6 without having a runner ;)

Stats say 1 in 3 TF win - Now who is to say that my horse say 5-1 that gets scratched should not be given the same consideration as when a TF is scratched? I say scrap this NON RULE - Go back to the days when if you had a scratched horse TF counted and horses ran as soon as they were loaded - I am a punter only but I don't see any value in unloading a field and then reloading just so that I can correct my bets - Lets say you had a P6 and first leg runs big result - now first leg of the jackpot the TF is scratched at the start so they unload the field to give guys time to redo jackpots - now you had a banker in that leg of your P6 - The horse gets worked up after being pulled out and reloaded for only financial reasons (no problems with stalls etc) - Your horse now agitated jumps badly and runs second or unplaced - Is that fair? I believe the discretion in racing should be removed completely - I have seen cases where certain horses are given way longer than others to load - that should be scrapped - A timer should go off and if a horse does not load within that time scratch- equal for all and applied in all centers - Make rules as hard and fast as possible so that the game is more transparent - If you think about cricket for example - the law that used to cause the most chaos was LBW - The stump cam has changed that - In racing we have objection rules that are similar to betting on black or red in roulette - You never know which way the ball will fall - That is wrong - Just try explaining an objection to a newbie punter - The " but for" rule is confusing - Imagine you have a bumper bashing on your way to a job interview - Now you sue the other driver and the judge must decide if you would have been given the job if you were not late for the interview - How can the stipes see into the future? Unless there is a reasonable scientific measure(like the stump cam) how can the stipes presume to know what each animal/jock would have done "but for" the interference - I ramble and perhaps digress but I don't like playing games where the rules can change depending on human interpretation and agenda.(many divorces are caused by those 2 things)

I agree the odds of a horse should not be the deciding factor - imo the start should be delayed if a horse is scratched at the start - make it a 5 minute delay no matter which horse is scratched - introduce this rule so that everybody know where they stand.

There will still be punters who can't adjust their bets - on the road without a phone, or sitting on the toilet, or whatever, but at least those that can adjust their bets have the opportunity to do so.

We already have delays for lightning, the track not being ready, and who knows what else, so a 5 min delay to keep your punters happy is not too big a sacrifice (if at all)

I don't agree with you on giving punters time to place bets BUT if that becomes a rule then I am all for it - I am for a BLACK AND WHITE RULE no matter what it says just as long as it is consistently applied and is based on common sense.
I will also add that EXOTICS are essentially an add on of the modern era of Racing - If every race is treated as an individual contest as it originated then scratch and run is the answer - The problem with this TF malarkey is that the Savior of SA Racing, co-mingled pools, is also the assassin.. How many times is horse a TF as they jump yet 20 seconds later the Foreign Funds come in and a new king is crowned - Too much uncertainty and unfairness - Maybe the TF(for exotics) should be the horse that is shown as second fav the second the TF is scratched?
