Glad you like him pirates. If I had backed all his four fancied runners in the first four races I would have come out at a loss. His next two rides are biggish prices, that's what he likes to win on.

Cold morning - card dominated by tough handicaps - will have to box clever

R2: I fancy Sabina's Dynasty - beat fillies rated 68 and 63 by 6 and 15 lengths last time - got the 8 points max penalty, so comes in here off 71  biggest danger imo Smokey Affair who is dropping in the ratings; Diamond Noir obviously not without a chance, but tries 1600 for the first time

R3: Harlan County looks the right one here; La Scala is improving and has a nice draw, needs to improve more to beat HC imo; Volcanic Sunset bad draw and may need the run - watch next time; roughie for trifectas and quartets could be What a Storm - out of a staying family, has pole position and ran on nicely in his debut over 1200

R4: Interesting 3-yr old fillies handicap, where many have chances imo; even the roughie Barbie Doll; she finished in front of both Azkur and Tundra Taita in the maidens - gets weight from both of those today and I think she needed her last run badly

R5: Low level fillies and mares handicap; Microbe tries 1600 and looks to have plenty of scope, but she has to give weight to older (very moderate) fillies and has wide draw to boot; stable mate Iridium Silver has pole position and consistent recent form and with Sammi Moosa look naturals for the PA; for a roughie I think Legend Seeker is worth including; seems to prefer this track and may have a chance on her penultimate from a good draw

R6: Can one trust the appies - Mambo Symphony likes this track, has a wide draw, but must come into this; for me Walter Smoothie is a bit high in the ratings; only his third start though, so probably has improvement to come and has a handy draw; Edison has been running consistently and now gets the 4kg claim so would be my first choice; from Gonnafly downwards all the others are under sufferance, so probably looking for places at best

R7: Best Kept Secret certainly not going to recoup her price tag, but should at least go close here - slightly disappointing in her recent starts though, so could be worth opposing in the P6 and JP; imo Amoretta ran to higher than 61 when winning her maiden, and from a good draw needs to be considered; Secret Vision and Burundi Bush also have claims from fair draws

R8: Not getting any easier; Code Writer needed her last run, but on previous form is not going to Hollywood, so definitely worth opposing imo; Fly North another who imo won her maiden with a higher rating than given and gets a 4 kg allowance - only need the apprentice to stay aboard from a good draw and should be thereabouts; none of the others bar maybe Gold Shades can be safely excluded though

R9: These all seem capable of beating each other on any given day; Stunned, Dromedaris and Champions Cup probably safest from a PA point of view, but I have a suspicion that Sabastian (ignore his last start) could be the dark horse

Enjoy B)

Just some caution, with the change to the standside track, it makes the sprints even more open - bad draws over the 1200 inside track are no longer bad draws - as an example Last Girl Standing now a big runner imo and in the last, I have now gone off Sabastian to the change in distance
