The Rising Sun and the Post Newspapers besides their sponsorship does other things on the day to entice their readers to be on course. Usually a good crowd.

Thank you Naresh
Exactly - where are all the sponsors gone . Why do different sponsors put in different amounts of effort ? - there must be a problem. Why always the day after we always hear the story it could have been better and we will learn now for next year. One day there won't be a next year.
Don and Dave Scott must be the most positive people - They always look at the brightside . How different the world would be with a billion people just like them.

Yes Don I did . Not with my family as they have no interest in Horse Racing- they used to but not at present lost interest in wondereceiving why .
I have been doing my bit for 20 years . As an owner- a sponsor - a sponsor of my trainers and their staff . I have had over 150 winners. I have been a breeder . What more does racing want from me.
I was an original member of the concerned owners before we were hijacked .What else would you like to know.

It goes back to an old saying - for the opperators and Co - 'You can bull...t some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time'
Let me rather go back to work than deal with denial.

Warren nothing will change for the betterment of racing until real racing people get into key positions and or sectors of the industry get competition for example tellytrack..there are way to many positions in racing whereby its jobs for friends and family and this has led to the disaster we now have in the game ..Also the operators and their businesses are not open to constructive criticism and sitting down with their customers to learn what they are doing incorrect and how they can improve and when you get told like i was by the head honcho of bettingworld that if i and other locals dont like what is happening at bettingworld at clubtab greyville that we can go elsewhere then you realise that the fish stinks from the head ...Until the operators want to sit down and genuinely listen nothing will change ...They havent got it in them to improve things alone ..the situation regarding not selling winning form or s.post at tabs and bettingworld shops sums up the disgraceful attitude this leadership have ..i doubt this will change in my lifetime

No denial, i have been trying to set up better communication with operators and "their" clients for months and only get informed that they are working meetings to resolve, which i have no involvement.
As far as freebies i get an invite once a year to the July from Gold Cirle and spend much time promoting the event, pics, parade ring etc and it certainly is not a relaxing day.
As far as an invite for a free meal to local functions, i can again assure u the cost to travel and time spent taking pics etc
Plus i dont need the meal and spend far more at the box than i ever get back from racing

Pirate I can not agree with you more. Spot on . I go through that everyou day.
There was an instruction given by the new Chairman of the RA to the board especially one member to arrange a get together and sort this out. With the other opperators the first meeting has taken place. I am not sure how or who was invited but someone on this site attended. Sounds like the person delegated in this task has only chosen Yes Men and Women.

What do they do Naresh? please elaborate (not asking to be negative - want to gauge what works). Also, as publications - do they help with the build up and awareness? What do the public notice and react to? Which demographics and age groups notice what kind of communication ? social media versus traditional press?

7 years 8 months ago - 7 years 8 months agoI would like a few of us to have a meeting with riaan du plessis and tell him exactly what is going on with sectors of the industry that are under his control as im sure he is unaware of what exactly is going on as his racing experience is very limited and here im talking about saftote betting world interbet open bet sectional timing etc...For me he is getting fed plenty bullshit everytime results are given at year end resultsWarren Laird wrote: Pirate I can not agree with you more.
