I have said this before - Trainers should have written instructions that are read and signed by Jocks before the race - these would be put into a box after the jocks mount up - Then the stipes can read them and decide if they were followed or perhaps could not be followed because of circumstance... Will it ever happen? NO because it would clean up the game instantly - I wonder how a trainer will frame instructions like -"don't murder him" or "Keep him at the back because there is a race in 2 weeks that we want to win" or the most common "give him a run / give him an easy" I have heard these and far worse in the ring -
In this case we are told that the trainer gave instructions that were not followed- If this rider had representation of any calibre then counsel could dispute those instructions as what proof is there except that of the trainers version - I wonder if this stable will also make a video crucifying a jockey in the future - Jocks get lawyers and don't plead guilty!!!

Shocking... And a shame. This is not how you empower amateur rides, its a poor attempt to save face. A video broadcast for a workriders race, post race... Really??

Tapenzee opened up as 5/10 fav which was the correct price according to most clanners who posted beforehand regarding its chances. Soon thereafter there was 11/10 freely available with the bookies. Instead of backing the horse, I watched the race & expected something to go wrong. Irregardless of who is at fault in this mess, once again the punters got shagged & the bookies cleaned up. This was a major suspicious betting pattern. Perhaps the powers that be should study the substantial bets layed by the bookmakers.

and IF the rider did pull the horse then surely the question should be why he did it and for who-

Frodo wrote: I am not connected to the Azzie stable in any way ... I can understand why they acted in this way .... there has been quite a few opinions doing the rounds insinuating that the stable is 'not trying' as far as hot favorites are concerned ..... so they probably felt that they had to produce some evidence to counter these rumours .... and I know they have been quick to blame jocks in the past ....but in this case it seems they were "damned if they did and damned if they didn't" ...

.......shame and by trying to vindicate themselves they have become the villains in this saga....

who got to Semela one should ask......how low does one have to go to try fix a work rider race.....by pleading guilty to the offence Semela gets a 90 day ban.... excluded from earning pitiful stakes in WR heats for next 3 months.....by pleading guilty he does not have to offer up any further reasons for not riding to instructions and purposely giving the problematic horse to much reign to spit the bit....then making a mockery of the whole WR series and what it is supposed to be trying to achieve .....and you wonder why I stay away from the bookies..... :S
