There was some slow steady rain for a few hours here on the West Rand.

Quite a big storm in Alberton ( 10k's from course), but cleared now....

For those chasing the value ..... in race 7, imo Silver Class is a big runner at these weights - just look at the collateral form - to be followed in the Fillies Guineas by Pool Party, last time ran on best of all from a wide draw - took the double at an unbelievable 1200/1 :ohmy:

Pool Party will be flying the last furlong.

Hearing there was a fair bit of rain at turffontein today ..... not good, let's hope for sun tomorrow.

Ignoring the Features for outright bets-
my 2 for the day -
SAVE THE RHINO- proper horse that could well have been in the high 90's but for unsoundness - go close to winning again - hunt down 6-1
ELEVENSES can start slowly but the secret is to keep him wide for a late run ... certain winner last if he was not caught in the pack in the sprint up... has an old hand up and I would be shocked if he missed the exacta.
On the Features ... Al Shahem is an exciting horse - missed prep run through resp infection... fit horse then they must beat him --- utmost respect for the grey HEAVENLY BLUE
MALEFICENT needed that last run to clear the Cape from her lungs - better from this draw... ORCHID ISLAND made a complete mockery of some fair colts last .. my only concern is that the older fillies she faced last time(Seal My Fate et al) are not graded types but on her last run she really looks special .
I will not be tempted into a great spend on the features and Juv races and rather concentrate on the less glam fair... FREE THE PRAWNS!!!
