First timers from the Sporting Post
DUNCAN MCKENZIE
Race 1 – AEGEAN ISLAND (11): He is a very nice horse but has not been pushed – he has not seen the grass – the only grass he has seen is the grass he has eaten and when he jumped out the pens. He has ability and if not too green and dumb can run into the money.
JACQUES STRYDOM
Race 1 – SWORDOFTHESPIRIT (12): No comment.
GRANT PADDOCK
Race 2 – STRAWBERRY LIPS (16): She is a very nice, well bred filly – 1400m could be a bit sharp for her as I feel she will go further but I would certainly not be surprised if she wins a race like this!

Zevenastic x Oklahoma Sky
Mr Gould looks to have a great day 17/1 the double. I will be adding in his other ride Galao, sincing its its a Justin Snaith - Teaque Gould partnership

Oli Miranda x Richard Strauss 19/1.
Oli Miranda, would not be running in a Maiden Plate if it didnt lose lengths at the start. This is my only concern. Im hoping Grant is the magic needed to get it to jump on terms. It jumps on term, it wins.
Richard Strauss. My initial fancy was Wow Holiday, who before winning its last start, was running good races from bad draws. Cracked a draw lto and obliged, finishing ahead of my selection. RS, is now 2,5 kg's better off for a 1,85l beating. The extra will suit down to a tee.

Include WILD NIGHT OUT in your exotics.... Has ability and finally the trainer tries a new Jockey(difficult horse though but I think he has needed a stronger rider for ages)... on his day he can win a race like this

Race 2 - Birds Of War has had a lot of chances but did finish powerfully last time over shorter. Obviously vulnerable to the younger horses but if they aren't quite ready today, would have some e/w chance round a turn she's only tried once before.
