Nice ride on Penhaligon...not using the whip again after it shifted from it initially...

I assume the pull up area is past the post and becomes irrelevant to the advertised race surface,so wouldn't it make sense to make the pull up area an all weather surface,as it seems silly to abandon all weather racing due to waterlogged turf!!!!
I seem to remember that that area is a problem for turf racing too, due to a lack of sunlight???
Would that not solve both problems?

the solution rob is to make one surface for the whole course and that would have to be polytrack as they will never get the grass track right and have already lost three meetings which were meant to be half grass half poly uncluding todays meeting...this would mean big fields of 16 runners or more which is good for turnover and also would reduce the number of meetings to be held which have gone up by 100 meetings a year to 125 meetings a year which we all know runs at a loss for the host of the meeting ..all thats happened is the grass track has been comprimised for the polytrack and its time to make a decision to make it all poly and get on with it

Sadly I think you right , as I would love to see them rebuild Greyville ,including the base (as opposed to just planting new grass ) and build a full Polytrack elsewhere ......but I doubt they now have the finances to fix the cock up in that manner!
The reality of no turf racing ,at the previously great course, is just so hard to swallow!

I did mention some times back. PMb grass and Gville poly.
Have a morning meet at Pmb and evening at Gville.
This is opposite towns as in England. If one gets abandon you still got one more to play with and Gc will still screw the punters.
Earlier I did post that I was in the vicinity of Greyville on Friday and saw the grass planting taking place with trays and hoe (by a scattered team of damn knows who - my great grandfather was a top gardener) and this meeting gets abandoned due to the pull up area.
