I think that the only other course in the country, Kenilworth, can accommodate more than 20 runners. If so then can we also expect to see the Met with 20+ runners?

Question to be asked if the race will be on the straight course or the new course?

If the race is on the straight course will the Berlin Wall be removed to accomadate this large field?

Tracks will be joined

They are also planning a jackpot with all 4 races which should create massive pools

Ok it looks as if the races will be down the straight not unlike Royal Ascot big handicap races and it will be interesting to see how the jocks ride. Not that it is new to a few of them but near side / stand side will be intriguing no doubt.

The highlight will be to see the Vaal restored to it's original width after many moons of splitting.

I think it's going to be a stand alone meeting also, so no problem attracting the big Jocks

Well done to those involved coming up with putting this into practice - finally some 'out of the box' thinking - why has it taken so long and will the format be repeated more than once a year ?

Something that has been overlooked is the totes ability to handle more than 20 runners. Clearly the tote software has been upgraded to handle 28 runners as the traditionally could only handle 20 runners. I cannot see any reason why maximum field of 28 will not continue going forward. 28 runners = more noms and acceptance fees, more opportunities for owners, trainers and jocks, and will result in more carryovers = good for phumgold

Posted this awhile back, hope it happens...

With the Vaal sand track closing and the straight being widen, is there any chance that 30 horses can line up on the straight racecourse has Saftote can accommodate 30 horses in their software....
