It needs readdressing and the meeting rescheduled. I cannot also skip the fact that the three trainers – or for want of a better word, three Gold Circle “stooges” – invited to the meeting are employed by Gold Circle.

Some would say that Craig Eudey is not and he and I have no beef at present. But he came up to me last year and shook my hand and told me that he worked “under Tony” – so I can only assume he has a vested interest.

Oh dear we go with "fact" that is factually incorrect.

Tony is the only one employed by GC. Paul Lafferty and Craig Eudey are trainers representatives, who are elected by their counterparts. And as I understand, that is why they were present at the meeting.

I'm sure Craig or any other trainer can verify this.

And further, the reason Lafferty is on the GC board is because the elected trainers cpmmittee chairman, whoever that may be at the time, has a seat on the board.

Dilli, what is Tony's designation within GC? Just trying to understand why Craig would say "work under Tony"?

Does Lafferty not derive any income from GC through presenting or TV shows? Once again just trying to understand...

Not fact but my understanding. Tony is employed as "Estate Manager" at Summerveld.

At a time Tony was chairman of the trainers committee and Craig was the 2IC so maybe it was at this time that Craig "worked under" Tony. To my knowledge Craig has never been employed in any form or shape by GC.

In terms of Paul, he gets paid by Tellytrack as do the other race day pundits for presenting.

As for his and Goodman's show, I believe they get remunerated by the show sponsors

Thanks Dilli, still a bit unclear and will have a look on the GC site for more info. This should be freely available to the public & GC members, don't know why it isn't.

It seems Tony has been employed by GC in different positions for a very long time...and definitely should not have been at the meeting regarding the tracks in his capacity as a trainer.

Once again just smoke, smoke, smoke...why can there be no upfront clarity. Pirates you are more than likely correct and if that is the case then it is disgusting with absolutely no thought given to ethics & conflict of interest.
