Re: GREYVILLE POLY, 29/04
9 years 1 month agoseems a very short price considering he got the compulsory minimun 2 pound penalty for winning last time which shows the handicapers weren't impressed with him but that was on grass not poly..as mentioned above roman carnival had a rating of 106 on the vaal sand and some have drawn similiarities between the poly and the sand so off 73 he could be the surprize package..also if yougo back to caniago beating strategics pride over this course and distance by 2 lengths and strategic pride is including the apprentice allowance a full 6.5kg better off for that 2 length defeat..bayern wrote: If you quick enough, Canigao, there is still 13/10 available at H/wood, horse is 9/10 elsewhere.

Point taken, however, would the two horses mentioned above not have been better weighted in relation to Canigao had the race been a "normal" merit rated handicap, say a MR 80, for the sake of the discussion?
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Before tonight Hewitsons strike rate was 18.9%..........only Marcus,Strydom,Delpech & G Lerena are higher this season.
Although he has been claiming, that is still a remarkable stat. Way ahead of any other claimers!

For the sake of the discussion....I have Roman Carnival well clear of Caniago.....and Sovereign Reign next to Strategic Pride....just behind Caniago
