Feel I have to say something here.

I have enormous respect for Mr H and Rob F, they are two guys here that I always read, don't always agree with but nevertheless take note of their comments, whether it be "selections" or anything else on the forum.

I also though have plenty plenty respect for H. Yes he charges for tips but as I have always said, it is each individual's choice as to whether or not they choose to pay. And he doesn't always accept people who want to pay, why not I have no idea! :) I do not follow his tips but have "come across" them occasionally and he has good runs and bad runs. He is pretty good at finding outsiders and I have no idea how he does it, not the same way I attempt to that is for sure. The fact is 95% of the time I pick an outsider, part of it is of course guesswork, often hoping that the horse recaptures the form of one race where all the others are shite and you look for possible reasons why that might happen on this particular day, or changes in distance, draw etc. Rarely when I put up an idiot in a race would I be expecting the horse to win but, I always think it just might do so. And enough "just mights" come in to make it fun and worthwhile. So, yes, guesswork is involved but it also takes some "skill" and bravery. H has imho both of those qualities. He is also very helpful, he will happily discuss a horse's chances pre-race with me though unfortunately, he can't do that so much on the forum for obvious reasons.

I have a lot of time for H and think some of the criticisms here are unfounded and unnecessary. Also, to his credit, at no point here have I seen a derogatory remark from him about anyone else despite some "inflammatory" comments made towards him.

Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion, mine is I would gladly receive H's thoughts every day, but, as you know bud, only when they come freely :)

Englander ,I think the issue here is ,not so much how selections are made ,but when .................people seem to have an exaggerated perception of how much people care about how they do/did!.............and especially after the event!
eg.I was a very keen and competitive golfer and generally enjoyed a flutter on the game ...........................but the golfers nobody wanted to sit with in the bar afterwards were the fellows (and surprisingly there are quite a few) who want to have a post mortem of their round and share, with everyone in earshot, every shot they played ...................like anybody else cares!

I am rather shocked at the tone of part of this thread. Mr H....did someone post under your name? The tone is not that of the gentleman Mr H we have all learnt to appreciate and respect. Why is it that people here are so aggressive to anyone who charges for tips? Or a racing service ? If Justin Vermaak posts here are you going to rip him to shreds? The Whisperer? John Sweet??
I have had past dealings with Heinrich (not paying for tips....I lose my money on my own kak selections)...and I do know he has loyal customers who have been with him for years. I have also in the past...in glee posted a good lurker winner...I am now cured. Will never happen again....apparently it iz as big a sin as having paying customers. In my defence I post to what I thought was a community where we feed off each other....and congratulate and commiserate together....{sigh}....{clicks send....goes off to punt a massive lurker}

Rob, find a little "give" in that hardened heart of yours bud :) lol
I put up a winner (admittedly mentioning two others in the race) on the forum a week or two back that was 100/1 when I took it. Think it had an SP of 40s, an Erasmus horse in a maiden, Queen of Art perhaps, not sure. Anyway, not a single "good call" was mentioned. Someone puts up a 1/2 and 5/2 winning double and it can be "excellent shout" from a few. WTF??? lmao as I write this, tis just the way the forum is.
I also backed that 100/1 shot at PE a few weeks back when you were one who mentioned that it was impossible to find. I only mentioned it after the event because Bob made a comment something along the lines of "not even Engels could have found that one" (... well I did lol).
I am fairly sure that H only mentioned this one because, similarly, of Bob's comment this time, sure H was saying it mostly in fun but probably with a little bit of "chest pumping" thrown in, its a blardy good feeling when an idiot comes in. I know you don't post them so much but, I am sure you have had a big priced winner or two come in over the years, good feeling is it not? :) I have a fair few nice winners that are never mentioned before or after on the forum but, if someone makes a comment then sure, I may mention the fact I was on! H is not exactly someone who comes on frequently bragging (I can't say the same about his Facebook page but that is of course different lmao).
There are some who come on almost on a daily basis claiming this or that, bully for them but I just pass them over. Surely it is they who deserve the "wrath" here, if any is to be given at all, rather than someone who is doing it pretty much as a one-off, and at odds that probably merit a little bit of chest pumping.
If people don't care about another's success then so be it, I for one though smiled when I saw H had done it, good for him :)
Anyway, I've had my tuppence worth, I like H and I'm pleased for him. Can't really say more (everyone will be pleased to hear! lol)

Maybe I am missing somethng but I read most posts and I didnt even know H was a tipster. He seems to come across as a nice guy unlike some "others" so the logic eludes me on this thread. The way I read his comment was that you two had some "scheme" in common which you both had discussed in the past. or H had taken from past comments and in a strange way was reminding you of them. Being an arm was maybe confirming this "special thing" you had mentioned in the past and H was giving you the credit for it. Any case kiss and make up. Both of you are valued Clanners.
Im off for the day so did just wanted to mention about tomorrow. Elusivenchantment is back after a lay-off, we dont know how good she is yet and Im hoping her class will bring her through, caution, she will need the run and the stable has a low grade virus. It only seems to affect horses that have been racing regularly so maybe not her. (bloods good) Good racing guys.

We all like a punt for one simple reason, to win. So why fight with each other? If you want to become a keyboard warrior on ABC flick over to the sports thread where the insults, wind ups, criticism is rife (but all in good nature)

Sorry Englander ,I am not likely to notice every winner you, or anybody else, mentions and give you the "good call" that warms your heart........lol
I am afraid that when I glance through the daily thread I only look for some analytical fact (like a collateral or rating anomaly ) that I might have missed ................I never treat it like an awards ceremony!
The important thing is that everybody is here for different reasons so live and let live should prevail...................but in all the circles I have mixed, there are certain habits that have, and always will, get up most gambler's noses ,and that is the post mortem expert
(You will tend to find that the old guard are more reactive(imagine how many times they've heard them)and Mr H has had a long innings in this buoyant pastime :P )

I just want to say this, and this will be my last post on this thread.Mr H...I only replied to the statement Bob made.Only posted my selections of yesterday coz you guys said I'm an ARM,indicating I was lying.
You shouldn't misunderstand either...when referring to WORK...I meant studying and analysing the Cards day in day out.I last had a job in 2012(while working for a friends dstv company in Robertson to help him out)I have never had a proper 8-5 job since 2010...coz like I said...I am lucky!!!

Next point why do I sell my tips???

My tipping service was FREE for more than 2 years.Guys in it that time started selling my tips(I can mention names aswell).Eventually I rooted out the bad, last year I suggested to my clients that they shouldn't pay anymore,90% refused...says them paying me keeps me honest, coz what we have is a business deal.

Also,I do not read newspapers, watch shows like USO before I have posted, hence reading this site when I'm done with my work.In my mind I am the BEST at what I do,so I only care what I think, what I say when doing the cards!!!This might sound arrogant, but this is what I believe, but that doesn't stop me from ever trying to improve myself only way to improve myself,is to learn new things from the guys like you and others on this site.Hence me reading threads every night.

Also,I will still and always have respect for the likes of you,Rob,fro do and many others I learned from on this site.In 2004 or 2003 I remember sending Mr Scott an email, looking for competitions, coz I started out and was eager to improve myself. He told me about this site, from than on I was in the library every morning, reading thru posts, trying to see in my newspapers why you and others like the horses...so I am forever great full to this site for teaching me 90% of the basics 1 should know.

Heinrich ,as I pointed out ................it is not about whether your tips are good or bad (in my book anyway) but if you don't post them in advance, nobody cares........sad but true!
There are a few posters who regularly ,after every "shock" result, claim to have fancied it ..................that is always going to piss people off!.................unless they posted it pre-race..........its the way it is!
