This may not fully answer your question Englander but it is Africa and everything here has become a joke,a farce if you like, but nobody cares and you can get away with just about anything, especially in the SOUTH of AFRICA

Finally figured out Fairview...asked my wife for a number...she said no 2. Backed Bolt of Light e/w and what do you know...it's got nothing to do with form, merit ratings, draw etc....just ask the missus

Thanks JCL but I was at BPs for a long time in SA and trust me bud, I know the workings all too well. When I first got there, there was a wall and an electric gate. Now... the walls have been replaced to prevent the f@rkers climbing over, breaking through or digging under and there is electric fencing all around the property. There is a big dog. There are surveillance cameras. All the windows are barred. There is a night guard. There is a tazer and pepper sprays in the office. There is Rapid Response Security. The owners have made friends with the local police boss.

In the early days, I was personally robbed 5 times in my first six months, my partner has had her car window smashed by a hammer but fortunately there was shock-proof glass, a guest once bumped into someone in the kitchen carrying a machette amongst numerous other break-ins, a regular guest was stabbed because it allowed the aggressors to join a gang, I have totally lost count of the number of thefts and assaults stories I heard and I would say you would need at least both hands to count the number of rape or attempted rape victims I have encountered. And the number of con artists etc that it was my displeasure of dealing with can't be counted, it got so bad that for a time SAs were not permitted to stay.

So, when I hear that horse racing is 100% clean in SA, I have my doubts...
