A bookmaking business without a oddsmaker, is like a Life Assurance company without an actuary...........................surely a business needs to be the master of its own destiny.

Hollywood have gone from 1 branch to over 60 in about 12 years I think. They are hardly going broke, and pricing up so that customers can have a bet is their business isn't it?

Very indicative of the low levels of liquidity that prevail in the racing market.
As the market declines further this will only become an even bigger headache in future.

Not trying to bash anyone here
Collective effort, perhaps a few clanners can get together and open up a bookies?
1) Some knowledgable folk here who can do the odds etc...
2) Some high rollers surely who can fund it...
Offer the majority what they want and the customers will follow?
Currently I am neither 1 or 2
Personally I dont know the nitty gritty's but why not?
Business vs pleasure

Some nights when i could not sleep i placed my bets,
It was during those quiet nights that i could concentrate best
Now i must force myself to bed

That`s exactly my point, don`t stick to one account, interbet are taking BW prices for a while..
But this morning while the other bookies were offline Hollywood were 13/2 a now 5/2 chance, 9/2 a now 3/1 chance and 8/1 a now 9/2 chance, 12/10 a now 7/10 chance and 20/1 a now 10/1 chance..
just keep your options open

These bookies are a bunch of pussies, think i should get my own bookmaking license an make millions off all the ante post money for the hot favourites that get rolled time and time again.

So we are back to where we started,BW pricing up and the rest of the market following.
After all the uproar nothing has changed,as the whole markets odds will simply copy this with a few tweeks, just as before.
