Always been a fan since he won a big Cape feature on Emblem of Liberty (Woodroffe trained and de Broglio owned ??)...

Emblem of Liberty won the Paddock Stakes beating River Jetez. Was ridden by Greg Cheyne and owned by his wife and Lionel Cohen.

You guys are saying cape jockeys not that good, what about jockeys in TVL, its only the top 6 or 7 jockeys that are tops, Fortune could hardly get a ride in cape town, came to Tvl riding as well as your top jockeys, Zechner and Sturgeon were struggling in Ntl, came to Tvl and are top jockeys there in Tvl. So you can't say
cape or tvl or ntl jockeys are better,if you give a man a chance he can make it happen, I think the better horse you ride the better a jockey will ride, when you keep ride horses from top stables I get a spring in your step and your confidence grows, but when you ride horses that finish 10,20 lengths back, how good can it make these jockeys, IMO most jockeys can rise to the platform and good luck to the jockey that gets the job at Ramsden.

I don't think the Cape jockeys are worse than the Gauteng riders BUT I think the false pace that we often see in the Cape is the problem. We have far more genuine paced races in Gauteng- I don't think the horses are worse in Capetown - Actually they are very very good but the slow fractions set there are not for me.

My only question is:
Why not a local
What's wrong with Aldo Domeyer if he's not first choice to any stable?
Or Christopher Puller who's got all the talent in the world?

For me,if you have to import, look no further than Warren Kennedy

Seems to have lost his way. Maybe a change will bring out the best of him, remember when he rode for De Kock he use to boot home the winners left right and centre
