Ryan Moore at Royal Ascot: The views on my six rides on day three of the Royal meeting
Betfair Ambassador Ryan Moore has six booked rides at Royal Ascot on Thursday afternoon
Betfair Ambassador Ryan Moore bagged his fourth and fifth winners of the meeting when landing the Queen Mary and Royal Hunt Cup on Wednesday, and here he talks exclusively as he looks forward to his six rides on Gold Cup day at the Royal meeting...
14:30 Royal Ascot - Waterloo Bridge
Waterloo Bridge has a fair bit to find on the top ones if he is going to win the Norfolk Stakes. But he wasn't beaten far by Round Two and Argentero at Naas in May, and he battled on well to win his maiden on soft ground at Tipperary a couple of weeks ago.
He is more experienced than most of his rivals, so that should stand to him, and Aidan's horses and his juveniles have been in great form this week.
The two Richard Hannon horses are the two to beat. King Of Rooks won the Listed National Stakes at Sandown by five lengths, form that looks even better now than it did at the time with the runner-up Buratino winning the Woodcote Stakes and the Coventry Stakes since, and the third horse Steady Pace running well in the Windsor Castle on Tuesday. He has since been bought by Al Shaqab.
Log Out Island was impressive in winning over this course and distance at the end of April, clocking fast figures, and he has since been bought by Godolphin. Between them they set a high standard.
15:05 Royal Ascot - Disegno
Disegno ran a real good race to finish third behind Golden Horn and Peacock in the Feilden Stakes on his debut this season. That form obviously looks even better now. As well as Golden Horn's Dante and Derby wins, Peacock has since won a listed race at Newmarket on his only subsequent run.
Disegno was only just nutted by Not So Sleepy on his next run in the Dee Stakes at Chester in May on soft ground that wouldn't have suited him. He should be much better suited by conditions here.
Not So Sleepy re-opposes, and he is obviously a danger, but I think that my horse will be better suited to conditions. Peacock also re-opposes, and he is also a danger, as is Time Test. He was good in winning the London Gold Cup at Newbury last time, he showed a nice turn of foot.
Jessica Harrington's filly Bocca Baciata is also interesting, she beat the Irish Guineas winner Pleascach in a listed race at Navan in April. She was only fifth in the Irish Guineas herself, but she travelled well through the race and I wouldn't be surprised if there was more to come from her.
15:45 Royal Ascot - Curvy
Curvy battled on well to beat Giovanni Canaletto in the Gallinule Stakes last time. That was her third win on the trot, she is an improving filly. She needs to step up again, she still has 8lb to find with Pleascach on official ratings, but she could improve again.
I was impressed with Pleascach in the Irish Guineas, she picked up and stuck to her task well. She is a Group 1 winner, a Classic winner, who escapes a penalty in this, a Group 2 race. She is the one we all have to beat.
It will be interesting to see how Pamona runs, she didn't have the run of the race in Crystal Zveda's race at Newbury last month. She should step forward from that.
16:20 Royal Ascot - Kingfisher
This is obviously a big step up in trip for Kingfisher, it will be interesting to see if he stays. He stayed on well to win the Saval Beg Stakes at Leopardstown last time. That was over a mile and six furlongs, this is another six furlongs again. It is a big step up.
He won the Dee Stakes last year and he finished second behind Australia in the Irish Derby, he obviously has ability. And he is by Galileo, so there is a chance that he will stay.
Forgotten Rules looked very smooth in winning the Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan on his debut this season. He won the Long Distance Cup on Champions' Day last year, and he is the one we all have to beat if the ground is okay for him to take his chance. Tac De Boistron is another high-class stayer on easy ground. He was beaten by Clever Cookie at Chester last time, but he is a dual Group 1 winner. I think that those two set a high standard.
17:00 Royal Ascot - War Envoy
The handicapper has given War Envoy a chance in dropping him to a mark of 104. That's 7lb lower than the mark he had at the start of the season. He was well beaten in the Prix du Jockey Club last time, but that wasn't his running. He didn't run badly in the French Guineas before that.
He is a horse who has ability, he was second behind Estidhkaar in the Champagne Stakes last year, and he was only beaten a length behind Gleneagles in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere. I think that the fast pace and big field of the Britannia will suit him, I think he'll run all right at a big price.
There are lots of potentially well-handicapped horses in there, Quick Defence, Mutarakez, Sugar Boy, Capel Path and Resonant. And that's just some of them. It's a typical Britannia.
17:35 Royal Ascot - Dissolution
Dissolution is interesting off a mark of 90 in the King George V Handicap. He just got home by a head in a bunch finish on his debut this season at Newmarket off a mark of 82, and he ran well to finish second behind Time Test at Newbury last time off a mark of 84. It will be interesting to see how Time Test runs in the Group 3 race earlier on.
Dissolution is up 6lb from that, but he is progressive and I think that he will improve for the step up from 10 furlongs to 12.
Space Age is one of the main dangers. He was four lengths behind Dissolution at Newbury, but he is 3lb better off here, and he has since won at Newmarket, making all and battling on well. But I think that my horse can run well. He is nicely drawn too in stall eight of 21.

Not a vintage renewal of the Gold Cup. Wouldn't surprise me to see an outsider win it.

King Of Rooks has solid form that has been strongly advertised at this weeks meeting, but the early money today has been heavily on Log Out Island, the stable companion and second fav who's come into 22/10 from 3-1.
Can't get a big dividend, but it looks a nailed on boxed exacta, and could be worthwhile if it comes 6-5 as opposed to 5-6.
At this early stage 5-6 is paying 3.70 and 6-5 is 3.90.
Getting better than 8/10 the boxed exacta,I've seen much worse bets in my life.

Could not make up my mind in the first, Hannon 1-2 possible...

Simenon likes it around here, must have an eway shout.
If you like Dissolution, then have a look at Marma's Boy as a outsider, beat a horse called Muqtaser by 2 lengths who in turn finished a head behind behind Moore's ride. Obviously there are plenty who could improve in this contest but i've taken an eway at 16-1 on MB.
