Scarlet Berry has run well all 3 starts this course including an all the way win last start in quick time.

She is drawn deeper today, has more weight and other jocks will be more aware of her running style.

That said, she has enough gate speed to get across and lead and must have a fair e/w chance of repeating at a nice price.

R1 Like Bob, I am far from convinced Other Brudda's form justifies odds-on. Lto he was beaten 2l by Grand Lodge over c/d. In his penultimate run J P's Prince was beaten 2.5l by GL, also over c/d, and if the last run is forgiven he has been fairly consistent. In that same run, JPP was 0.5l behind Galactic. Albeit over 1400 on the turf, Spectacular Jet finished 1.5l in front of Galactic. That puts OB and SJ with nothing between them, though SJ tries the poly for the first time. Seattle Saint does prefer the poly but was 2.75l behind OB lto and might find that difficult to over turn despite an improved draw. The one I am going to chance here though is Tongaat. Hopefully his run over 1200 lto will have brought him on after a 19 week rest. His best two runs to date have been on the Greyville poly and though the form of those races is not great, worth noting that on a line through Mystery Leader he has almost 2l to spare over OB. Has the widest draw to overcome but was also not that well drawn at Greyville. With OB 8/11 and Tongaat 20/1... Tongaat x Other Bruddha x Spectacular Jet

R2 Ideal Bloom was much improved first time on the Poly lto when finishing 0.5l ahead of Stacked By Seattle but IB is not so well drawn here and considering the latter stumbled that day and the stable has come back to form lately, I expect the form can be reversed. Not sure about the strength of that form though and the winner of that race, Rose And Crown, had finished 4.35l behind Fuhgedaboudit when the latter last ran on the poly. Indeed her best two runs have been on this surface and she may have a big preference for it. That said RAC may have improved plenty in that second run mentioned and certainly her time was much quicker when winning. Jay Belle has been relatively consistent on this surface and cracks a decent draw for a change, whether that will bring about sufficient improvement to win this though is far from certain. At the prices though I am going to chance A Bit Of Alright. The last run can hopefully be ignored with a number of excuses. In her penultimate she was just over 3l back of Fuhgedaboudit but was reported short that day and is slightly better drawn today. In her two prior c/d runs she finished 2nd and 4th, in the latter effort she was 1l in front of Jay Belle with both going from poor draws. With her price upwards of 4 x that of the others I'll chance her in a small e/w... A Bit Of Alright x Jay Belle x Fuhgedaboudit

Ok, about to get busy so can't be continuing like this especially as, not unusually for fairview there are plenty in with shouts almost throughout the card, so...

R3 Patent of Nobility definitely the one to beat imo. Terrybelle and Makeover could fill the places.

R4 I am fairly strong on Scarlet Berry but also think Rushing Elf over-priced and some potential value for the exacta. Lady Silvia and Bride's Dowry likely to be competitive and Milynne off a very low weight could be the joker in the pack and see the Agent returning to haunt us.

R5 Wide open. Pure Elegance looks a decent price again but then so do Valminoushe and Live Action. Chappel Hill is a ? as is Aspen Winter who is the real nagger for me. There are 3 or 4 others all in with a fair shout too but, I'm going to take a chance here with the PE debutant Strong Scent for the Shams. Has seemingly had issues and her last few efforts have not been the best but drawn wide lto, sand in penultimate and previous was off a 27 week rest. Some comparatively not too bad form prior to that though and if the Shams can have worked a little bit of their magic... price not particularly attractive given the recent form so will be hoping for a drift.

R6 Wide open. Sir Duke, Principled and King Of Indians very closely matched and any could win it but again, I am going to take a chance and hope the Shams can do me a second consecutive favour. Money Grubber had some decent form in Gauteng and over a distance almost certainly short of his best made a decent poly debut lto. Back up in distance from a good draw, I make him the value in the race.

R7 Commanche Moon x Lemon Fizz. Lord Rose might be worth a couple of rand at the price.

R8 When I thought Distiller was a scratching I made Pegwell Bay a huge runner here. With Distiller running I am less confident but will stick with PB and Distiller for the exacta. Ikati and Miss Friskie to fill the trifecta and quartet spots.

R9 Wide open. Maybe Verlaine for the trifecta behind Mancelle for the exacta but at the prices, I like Bermuda Winter here, if he can reproduce his penultimate run back in a good box then he has at least as much chance as plenty of the more fancied ones imo.

Hope the Shams don't comment now without sounding positive about the two of theirs I particularly "like" lol

Be(s)t of luck to all

Not mentioned yet but I think Bonnard is a huge runner in the sixth. Down in class and great course record only missing the places once. In good form and will be right there.
