I am not trying to be a dick but if Strydom is one of SA best then Craig of Durban must be more deluded then I thought that he was. As Loopy says maybe he is just having an off day but that ride on Oxford Union was not good at all. Not for a yard was that horse in the race.

So anytime a horse does not run well for whatever reason we can blame the jock for not placing him in the correct spot?
Hoender, you know the sport better than that!

Watched Oxford Union, the horse does not appreciate the soft going, took no interest, really blew out in the betting
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

No not at all Chris, very seldom do I ever blame a jockey, but to me it just appears that both those rides were not very good and yes maybe and in all probability both horses did not take to the surface or both were not up for the fight.

I hope that the jockey and horse is ok as that was one hell of a fall.

It is clearly nobodies fault but it is amazing that when things go bad for SAF racing, they go completely, bonkers mad......
Delays, horses bolting, jocks injured.....
Are there many meetings where this does not happen?
I don't mean to compare SAF racing with American racing but I almost NEVER see horses break through the stalls or power go out on the lights.

Chris,it's maybe not anyone's fault but it happens so regularly, there must be something that can be done.
That's 2 tonight and what with the debacle at Greyville,I think the authorities need to have a long hard look at themselves and sort it out.
If it's repeat offenders, horses and trainers, they need to be made to take action.stalls tests and fines.

Specific to today I wonder if horses and Jocks are affected by weather(Maybe the horse senses uneasiness from the Jock?) I know when it rains two drops drivers in South Africa seem to lose their brains, coordination and eyesight in seconds
