If the circumstances were the same now as back then we could have been saying Variety Club, Vercingetorix, Igugu, Yorker, Legislate, Louis The King, Elusive Gold, The Apache, Bold Silvano, etc all in one race and that's ignoring other multiple Gr 1 possibilities. I'm confident Legislate is better than the top 3yo of that year Gigantic. It might be wondered how The Apache and Bold Silvano can be included above, so go and look at the July in the 70s and see how many six and seven-year-olds ran at the expense of top three-year-olds (one of the ante-post favourites of 1979 the Mike Bass-trained Cracker Lily didn't get into the race while no fewer than six six-year-olds who had won three races between them the entire season lined up) due to the ridiculous race figure system.

This might not be in theme with what you are saying but of the ones you mentioned perhaps only one or two could win a derby
