Brassing the favs in the first couple, just taking a chance, no more than that

R1 LADY IMHOFF e/w (X THORNEYWOOD CLOSE X PHANTOM BID)
R2 LAW LADY e/w (X BLACK OLEANDER)
R5 SHE'S A STUNNER
R6 Empire Of The Moon
R7 Rocco's Luck
R8 Emperor Augustus
R9 BESAME MUCHO (though not even one at very big odds would surprise me)

Gee and guess what Ohiki Bay running in the 9th, what are the chances. Don't like Ohiki Bay at all but I do fancy Ahoy Captain.

Turffontein 16th August 2014 Selections...

Race 1 : Lady Imhoff X Alexandria {Nice swinger if it arrivers}

Race 2 : China Beach X Fly Phillippa

Race 3 : Flying Tern X Graduation Day {Atso has done well 1st time out 50/1 yummy :P }

Race 4 : Deliver the Power X Mercado {Perhaps just a slight preference for Deliver the Power but Mercado could easily win this race}

Race 5 : All in the Mind X Margot on Stage X She's a Stunner

Race 6 : Semra {Banker for me in all my bets}

Race 7 : Heart of a Lion {Banker for me in all my bets}

Race 8 : Ahoy Captain X Triple Beat

Race 9 : Mirror the Moon X Ohiki Bay

Good luck to all those with runners today and may the rain be kind enough to stay away.

R1 first timers don't have to be exceptional to win. Il be changing my luck on the more experienced work riders such as Semela and the like. Swingers with the likes of Semela, Ndlovu, Duma, Mossia.

R3 Exactas 4&5 boxed. These two in my opinion could be special horses.

R4 Mercado seems great value getting 10kg's from Link man and 11kg's from Deliver the power. Seems a bit like dejavu when tarry brought skitt skizzle back and he trounced an even stronger field. Has been gelded and Tarry always brings them back fit.

R5 she's a stunner/paschal moon.

R6 competitive between 1,2,7.

R7 Very competitive, I like National Key and Mr M. Will include the usual suspects and wouldn't be surprised to see chesalon run into quartets.

R8 I fancy the bottom weights Millenium wind decent distance record and Triple beat lots of scope for improvement with Munger aboard, well drawn May try steal race. Big respect for the emperor as well as LG's move like jagger.

R9 wide open affair. Oddly I don't really fancy the more fancied runners in the betting. Preference for Silva Shama (I tipped him two weeks ago as there was talk from connections he would run a big race although I was concerned about the draw.) good draw today and Stryker up must be a big runner. Will include all of 2,3,5,7,10,12,13 in pick 6 if I make it that far.

Good luck gents.

Belle Coco in the last should appreciate the return to this track and has a good draw.

Good punting

We are a little bit in two minds with Heart of a Lion. He was injured for 5 months, but is doing really really well (forget last run, 1000m is way to short and was just to give him a gallop).

He has got a lot of class and we expect a great season, if 100% he can beat every single horse in this field, however second run after a 5 month rest. I just want to give you the information I have, yes he can win (we wouldn't be surprised), but we are not over confident....

So please don't beat me up if he does win easily. Just trying to give the correct info.....
