I did a 30/1 atc earlier today with your fancies in Race 1, 4,and 5. I like them as well.
Let's hope the horses are on the same wave length as us then Agra

Good luck mate

Colin, you are of course correct.
And you did the jottings so the thanks are due to you, just adding a voice to them to hopefully boost confidence a bit... though some would understandably change their bets completely on a vote of confidence from me lol

10 years 10 months agoHaha the form some clanners have been in a bit of confidence from the in form clanners some would change their selections completely  I prefer to lose my own money rather then have someone else to blame. Nothing better then seeing others opinions though because this game can make one go a little looney so it's nice to get some confirmation when others like your selections too.Englander wrote: Colin, you are of course correct.

Chosen R5 to start and it isn't easy. The key to this race ,imo, is the run of Lost Island 17/07
Checked the stipes report and no explanation was needed for his poor run .Penny was the pilot
Lost Island had the measure of Foyle on at least two occasions and the MDK runner is priced up favourite.
In the 17/07 race Cohiba ran second and One Mans Dream third.
Cohiba cannot live with Lost Island and that poses the ?
Cohiba was fancied by a few last week and flopped
Foyle ran a decent sprint in his comeback run and I feel if Lost Island isn't at his best Foyle could be a runner

Had there been 4 places my money would be on Super Club.Having said that 10/1 three places is tempting....
#13 SUPER CLUB
Pay places 3
Price: 9.33 Stake: 44.00
Potential Payout: 410.52
#13 SUPER CLUB
Price: 66.67 Stake: 15.00
Potential Payout: 1000.05
His mum was one of my favourite horses

Both the stable and jockey are in cracking form. If anything does beat him, it would be the fact that he is returning from a break. See he has been recently gelded, just maybe it has improved him a few lengths (or so I am hoping).
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

On race 5 don't forget this is Foyles second run after gelding. On his comeback run he would have finished much closer had he not ducked twice in the last 200 m when passing horses - hence the blinkers on today. Khumalo is basically on course for this ride today. I wouldn't punt against Foyle before watching today's run. We might see why is he full brother to Kavanagh!

Here are my selections for the day. Was too tired last night to write out the explanations but all my selections are mainly based around horses that perform well at the course coming out of decent form lines.
Seem to have some favs but a lot of very nice prices horses I wouldn't leave out if playing exotics.
Vaal sand
Viking castle
Sea knight
Crown bearer / misque storm
Form up
Where's my chop / noble star
Devious tiger
Noble wind
Olympic bolt

I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

I can understand why people like Confabulate and the two main points for me are that the horse has been gelded and Lerena is now up and that trainer/jock pairing has proved a formidable partnership. I was tempted. But, there are 5 jockey/trainer combos in the race with a success rate of 20% or over and a fair case could no doubt be made for each. Lto Confab was beaten 9.75l by Iwo Jima over 1400, nto IJ was 1l behind Viking Castle over 1600. VC's recent form may seem to have fallen away somewhat but back on a straight course could see improvement again. Interesting race.
