Duminy's knock for Dehli the other night was one of the best paced, controlled innings I have seen for a while. Great knock. (tu)

Helped by Morkel's inability to bowl for the stumps...if you bowl short, you eliminate two possible methods (bowled, LBW) of getting a wicket and allows the batsmen to get under the ball and hit you behind square...

So, agreed good batting...helped by clueless bowling...:(

JP played Morkel brilliantly. He bowled a good length ball and JP hit him over mid off for 4 so he decided not to do that again and bowl short. Very smart batting and well executed shots. (tu)

I beg to differ...in that match, Duminy scored 21 runs off 8 balls he faced from Morkel and 31 off 27 from the other bowlers...

When Morkel bowled the crucial over to Duminy, Dehli needed 32 off 18...after the over it was 11 off 12...

My gripe is that Morkel bowls too short (irrespective of the form of cricket) and it means that Bowls and LBWs are unlikely from him...how good a bowler is he when HE eliminates two methods of dismissal from his arsenal ??

Anyway, respect the opinions posted...enjoy the next match...

Yuvraj Singh got 14 crore in the IPL auction. We could conduct two World Cups with that money says

Shekhar Naik, captain of India's visually impaired team, wants the BCCI to support his sport

Says it all about the IPL. That's one of the reasons why I don't watch it. Kids scavenging for food on rubbish tips, kids sleeping rough on the streets of India, yet these players are been paid millions for 6 weeks cricket. I am not saying that nobody helps these kids, I am sure that there are people and players who do a lot for them, but its just does not seem right.

Looks like team batting first may win for only the second time at this IPL...Dehli 22/3 after 5.4 overs...already need almost 11 an over...

(tu) Agreed...such obscenities exist in almost every sphere of life...I've ranted about this before so will not go down that path again...

There is something very wrong with a world in which we laud / celebrate billionaires yet there are billions of people without a plate of food today...the things we focus on and take for granted...the world's gone mad and the earth is one big asylum...:(

Yuk match, I hate walkovers. Didn't even watch the end of this one. Went and did housework instead. Hate housework. Then my regular Scrabble partner (a lady in England) failed to turn up. Went and marked student's books instead. Hate marking.

Wot a fun evening {poor me, snivel}.

Delhi have now got to make changes. Kp will come in next game as I believe he is fit, most likely for Ross Taylor. Then there's no point loading the middle order with your stars and they come in at 20/3 every time. Quinny De Kock has gotta come in up front because the clowns they've got at the top at the moment are merely putting pressure on their middle order. Gary has some decisions to make to find the balance of overseas players, JP, KP and Quinton gotta play next game then either a bowling all rounder (Neesham) or a straight bowler.
1. De Kock
2. Vijay
3. KP
4. Karthik
5. JP
6-11
One bloke who can smoke it and a few who can bowl it. With a top 5 like that 7-11 should not bat majority of games.
