Maybe a trainer can help me out here, LG or Craig. My understanding of how blinkers work is that they make a horse more keen generally, sometimes makes them concentrate a little more but mainly gets them interested in running a more handy type of race....

Why, oh why would you put blinkers on a horse who is already a keen, handy type of horse? What good can that do him?

Brave Leader is a point in case. He is a handy type who always runs up there. Why would they think putting blinkers on is going to make him run better?

In my opinion trainers use blinkers way too freely. again, just my opinion, I'm an armchair trainer so I know very little......
