mister cricket - very sad news

We are sad to announce that Mister
Cricket, the promising Judpot colt
from Varsfontein Stud, trained by Alec
Laird for Markus and Ingrid Jooste,
has reportedly died whilst having a
routine knee operation. Mister Cricket
was a winner of his first three starts
and a gallant runner up in Saturday's
Gr1 SA Classic.

Very sad news to wake up to :( How could this be "routine"?

Considering his owners and record I'm sure it was just a tragedy - Perhaps he had a reaction to the anesthetic?
