You think we seen a triple crown winner today? No, don't think so and I think the formline is suspect.

Although Forest Indigo ran 2nd I dont think one can say FI was the line horse else Louis The King, As You LIke, Bouclette Top and Mercado would have all ran way over their current ratings to 115, 104, 103 and 101 respectively. Very unlikely.

The line horses, allbeit weakly, I think are Mercado and Fort Bellini which implies Forest Indigo, As You LIke and Bouclette Top all ran below form. IMO, Louis The King to be raised by 5lb to 99.

I did not say they not good horses, what I meant was let's see how good they are in the NLT big races, time will tell. Plus the conditions did not suit ever horse in the race,if you ran that race again in good going you probably get a different result all together.

Peter writes: This horse could see a resurgence in interest in the progeny of Black Minnaloushe. He was well supported in his first few years here, but has been somewhat neglected at the sales the past year or two. He has been getting a regular flow of winners, but not much success in the big races.

Not much success?
Oh how short memories are.
Kochka won the Gr1 Premiers last July, and got an MR 111.
Now Louis The King, from the same (and only third) SA crop of BM.

Only my opinion...but I would not bet on a BM beyond 1800m...for Black type....I regard 1400m-1600m as their forte....(tu)

I have supported him both as a breeder and in the sales ring. He had good books of mares for those three crops, and his % stakes winners I think was disappointing relative to the opportunity he had and the fee (R60k) that he stood for.
