king karl

I think that Karl is top class. Interference, gaps closing are all part of Racing and to keep on having a go at him here is really becoming a bit boring. He rides many winners and often, brilliantly ridden. It would be nice if we also mentioned those too.

I dont know Karl that well, but his work ethic, commitment and dedication over many years has impressed me and earned my respect.

He rides a lot of poor races, on short priced favourites, unfortunately for him punters see those errors all too often.

Not going in this as well....but makes one wonder as too how much of this closing the gap is deliberate.

Are those short priced favourites genuine ? Or are they shortened because of the carded rider as per Strydom or Marcus etc ?
And unlike the tote, the bookies can shorten a horse as they like, without any money. This would suck the mugs in....

And then it's easy to blame "king karl" or Striker or Anton. ... For the poor ride..

Absolutely true

no matter what the price he makes far more mistakes than marcus or striker... go back through all the cape racing threads, the answers are all there.

Funny you say that ..............I did a complete look at my 3 ye old ratings last week and changed a lot ..................I reassessed the guineas and came to the conclusion that Roman Manner was not so much under rated as that Power King and Co were over rated.......time will tell!

yes and he is top class at riding them hard every race huh - I agree with Louis he is a top class jock but no confidence for a punt from me cause half the time you not sure if you will get an honest ride - wonder why his nickname is honest Karl ? anyone know? lol Anton against Karl for me it is no race Anton is king
