Years ago,I had a couple of golf lessons while in a slump,and the pro was explaining the benefit of a pivotal neck (affecting head and shoulders) Not really new but to illustrate how important it is to so many sports ,he had videos of top cricketers, jockeys, soccer strikers etc.
Watch the really top jocks.............most move around the neck as a pivot,and the head appears relatively still!

You want to transfer as much of your weight onto the shoulder /front legs of the horse .and keep it balalanced .

If you end up bouncing ,make sure you in rythem with the horse , and not going down when the horse is going up and you end up knocking the stuffing out the poor animals kidneys !!!

;)...on the button...that's why...IMO...the jocks that sit bunched up on the neck...win the photo-finishes...ala J Byrnes...that jock that does not like being called Mouse(affectionately)...Robbie Fradd...etc
