hibs i agree but i ask again why will phumelela adjust the winning BUSINESS strategy? they have poly then they save millions closing facility and keep same numbers of races as before. these is reason the other tracks are sold so why be diferent now

yes by staging races for all horses even with lower stakes it keeps more owners in the game and they will keep going back to sales to buy horses ..the thrill of winning to the owner is just the same of winning a mr 60 or a mr 90 but if there horses cant compete then they become disillusioned and pack up owning...owning horses isnt just about raceday its also about going to the yard going to trackwork and also from a social aspect meeting people from different walks of life where in any normal situation you wouldnt

you only have to study the australian way of racing to see how it should be done where all horses are catered whether they are a superstar or a camel...

I agree with Pirates' posts above. My first winner was at Bloemfontein with Anton Marcus up. The prize money for 1st was R14 000. But it wasn't for the money. It is about the leading in the winner and the photo against the wall.
If we had to close the minor tracks, only Mr. Jooste et al, will be racing. Many people would lose interest and leave the game.
