A question not related 3 year olds MR but rather older horses. I have had a look at the card for Saturday and see that the 4 year olds and older have had their MR increased by around 6 pounds. Does anyone know why this is?

It may be that they are looking to level the playing fields with the PE ratings..but that is pure conjecture
Give everything but up!

There should be a press release from either the handicappers and /or the NHRA :S
I can remember this happening once before - something to do with 'creep' - the way that MR's are calculated (using 'line horses' etc) leads to MR's in general decreasing steadily over time - so at some time (not sure who/how the timing is determined), the MR's of all older horses are increased inn one swoop.
Would be interesting to learn how the timing is determined and why 6 points (e.g. why not 2 points or 10 points) :S

Great-whenever any action is done on an "across the board basis" it will have many errors within it-good opportunities in handicap races for a while :)o

Just had a look at the new MR's in the sporting post..............I think there will be some standout bets in the handicaps.......some 3yr olds are going to be thrown in IMO.
