Thanks guys that angle at S can be deceiving but I was wrong by far

Although 14 horses were carded,Marshals priced up on runners and do not take into account reserve runners, hence also 1 more scratching. Only 3 placings apply.

Aryan I have just checked with marshalls if 14 or more horses are carded they pay 4 places irrespective of how many scratchings...there is obviously a deduction but if the scratchings are reserve runners and not quoted then there is no deduction but 4 places are paid..can it be that diff branches have diff rules?? i doubt it :S
