I will be back on the winning path come the weekend Lord Jim. Football wont go the same way as rugby as then the newspapers and visual media wont have so called "talking points" as thats what keeps the game alive. Should be a cracking match on Monday when Chelsea go to Man United. I doubt if Terry will play as RVP will make him look like a park player.

Premier league
Fulham at home to Arsenal kicks off the weekend in a Saturday lunch time kick off.

Arsenal have only one interest at the moment and thats getting into the Champions League proper and with the 3-0 win they should do that. It brings another 30 million into the coffers. Arsenals defence looks thread bare and I think that Fulham can win this by the odd goal in three.

Everton v WBA, Everton will start their home season with a win as WBA have bought nobody and their on loan striker from last season has gone back to Chelsea. Everton have a strong side and a two goal win is on the cards

Stoke v Palace. Playing at home will give Stoke a big advantage and they played very well against Liverpool last week Palace got better as the game progressed against Spurs last week but I think that Stoke with those noisy fans of theirs will win.

Southampton v Sunderland. Southampton look good and have bought a few good players whereas Sunderland have basically changed the whole team from last season and it will take a few more weeks for them to gel. Southampton at home will be a force this season and the new manager looks the real deal. A home win then.

Newcastle v WHU. I cant stand a whinger and thats what Newcastle are a bunch of whingers and I hope that West Ham stick 5 past them although I cant see that happening. A draw.

Hull City v Norwich City. Cant see Hull winning many games this season and this match is one of them that they can win. A Hull win

Aston Villa v Liverpool. Villa have had a great start to the season and although they lost at Chelsea last night they were robbed of a last minute penalty. Funny that you heard no complaints from Villa about their opening three fixtures yet Man United are crying about theirs. Liverpool played well against Stoke but I think that Villa will edge this, Villa for a win

On Sunday Spurs are at home to Swansea and on paper they should win but have had a bad habit of drawing a lot of their home matches over the past three seasons so a draw for me

Cardiff City v Man City. Its going to take a near miracle for Cardiff to get a draw let alone a win as Man City look very very good and a 4-0 score in favour of City is the prediction

On to Monday and its Man United v Chelsea. The result of this match i feel rests on the selection of Terry. If he plays Chelsea could be in trouble as he will never be able to cope with RVP. The easiest way out here is to predict a draw

11/10 City to win by 2 or more goals, 4/1 City to score at least 4 goals. Will be taking doubles with Stoke at 17/20 and 23/10 to win by 2 or more goals.

After last weeks disastrous start to the season (except that City won) here's what should be an easy one to kick the weekend off at around 6-1:

Colchester to beat Carlisle (tonight). Carlisle have shipped 13 goals in their last 3 and Colchester have got off to a fair start including a good draw away at Sheffield United which is never easy.

Wolves to beat Crawley (tonight). Mid table Crawley will probably stay there all season. Can't see Wolves dropping points at home here.

Monaco to beat Toulouse (tonight). Two wins so far for Monaco who look good this season. Toulouse drew with 10 man Bordeaux at home and Monaco despatched Bordeaux 2-0 away.

Bilbao to beat Osasuna (tonight). Nice away win for Bilbao last week. Osasuna lost at home to Granada and look like relegation candidates. Last seasons top scorer returns for Bilbao after missing last weeks game.
