Racing Form Website

Our proxy blocks this site so have not spent anytime there yet but does it have a filter where one can choose parameters (like they do on stock market trading platforms) such as 'horse', 'course', 'distance', period => 1 year... or 'runs=5' for it's last 5 runs over c&d ???

Madji, the results and horse information is stored in a relational database, so performing those queries like those are quite simple, building the search features to be configurable into our web front end is the challenge, are we doing it? Yes.

We demo'd the power of the global search feature to a few people offline last year as it was applied to the horse population and breeding, not form. As an example you could search for "grey filly or mare" and you'd see all horses that match that description in SA, add to that "grey silvano filly mare Wins>=1" and you'd see it constrained to Silvanos, grey ones that have won at least one race. Basic example. You can search for basically anything in the SA horse population. We are adding this feature back into the released website very soon.

Applying these searches to form isn't much different. In all honesty I don't see these custom form searches being implemented in the next month at all, but definitely in the next 3 months, purely due to the complexity of building the web interface for it.

However if you have queries post them here and I'll happily post results/findings until we have the front end sorted out.

This feature has been requested 3 times now, you being the 3rd, initially I said NO.

But with so many requests I'm inclined to start adding it to most search screens. First csv download will be in the next release for the horse search and we will add it to each search screen going forward. Its not actually much extra work.
