Steyn may not play against India tomorrow. That can only spell bad news for SA as they dont have the bowlers to bowl India out.

CnC, our batsmen will have to win matches for us ... and I do not see ANY CONSISTENT explosive batsmen in the team. But to have any chance we will have to consistently score 275 plus.

with the dry weather around the pitches will turn and SA have not got a good spinner. I can see India bowling us out for 220 with their spinners

South Africa have the worst ODI record in England over the past six years, having won only two matches in 10
Of the players in the squads of the two teams, only AB de Villiers has aggregated 100 or more runs in the Champions Trophy
India have won both their encounters against South Africa in the Champions Trophy, the last of which was in 2002. Of those who played that 2002 fixture, only Robin Peterson is in the current tournament's squads. (Cricinfo)

I think 250+ is a good total on this pitch.

Can't say I'm interested (cos I'm not lol) but I would say Pakistan and the Windies must have as good a chance as anyone, though I think the Windies may miss Chanderpaul - in this format you need someone for the explosive players to build around, not sure who will be their "rock" now, Sarwan possibly. If all the "explosives" come off then great but Pollard for example only averages mid 20s in this format. And not convinced their bowling attack is strong enough. Its not the game or event it once was though and any team that finds form can win it.

As an aside, fantastic to hear Tim May absolutely lambasting the Indian Cricket Board, about time someone from within (though he is now without lol) called it as it is, the Indians have been doing it for years and it has to stop. Ruining the world game for self-interests, pure greed imho and nothing else. Its one of the reasons I hate them so much as a cricketing nation.

I think that India and Australia should be the favs to lift the trophy. Cant see any other team doing so. I wont be surprised to see an India/Aussie Final.

Overcast & cold. Little more grass on the pitch & harder than in warm-up games. We are bowling first and there should be seam movement. Steyn not playing, so hoping that our seamers can pick up some early wickets.
