An Einstein you are clearly not if you believe the bull@%$t being posted here. What he is actually doing is preparing a horse to win a Group 1 and mission accomplished. Clearly no one, including Mentor believed the horse would actually win it but why not give credit where it is due to all involved.

THIS IS MY VERY FIRST GRADE 1 IN MY SHORT STING IN HORSE RACING. .I AM STILL SHAKING. . THANK YOU LORD FOR THIS MOMENT AND THE MEMORIES WILL LAST IN ME FOREVER?

Mr stratman clearly you represent the stable. Only 4 posts. I think the win will do Laff more harm that good.

@ stratman..... Soma deserves most of the credit. if the punter knew the horse was in his care, believe me the result would not have been such a shock. the important info to know was that the horse never travelled back to durban after the guineas. Anyone notice the horses mane was not plaited like a usual Laff horse???? Trainers should be forced to notify the NHA of information that is material to a horses chances. Was not to hard for Soma to be confident. Tip a champion beat Tellina easily in the maidens and he had 6 weeks with love struck

Congratulations to Alesh on his decision too run the horse, Anton said the horse would not stay and rode something else, Laff obviously listened to Anton and was proved wrong. There is a R1 million Rand Race in Kzn for Kzn bred horses only and must have thought that would be an easier race. What would have happened if the horse had broke down?
Any July hopefuls from this race?

I can't believe that after all the nonsense on a previous thread with a similar theme,we are still debating some basics.
The last few months have suggested ???(surprise surprise) that:
a) its all about the horse .............but some people can get more out of the same horse than others..........the lucky ones??
b) 5 years from now the lucky people will still be lucky and the unlucky ones will still be bemoaning their misfortune
A bit harsh unfortunately but there are only 2 kinds of people .........winners and losers..........and for the same price I would prefer to pay a winner!
Well done Mentor.........you pay the piper ,you can call the tune.

Lmao rob ,that I never got lucky story is the biggest joke in racing, how does a man enter the profession of being a horse trainer and just hopes he gets lucky because he believes all trainers are equal and the only difference is the quality of horse they get

I am still trying to work out how much improvement Love Struck actually made between the races. In his previous run he finished 3.5 lengths of Tellina after travelling 600kms in a horsebox to the course and being at altitude for the 1st time and into a completely new box and surroundings. Now he has been there over 4 weeks and acclimatised by now to the altitude, box surrondings etc and he is fast asleep in his new home until an hour or 2 before the race. Walks across and races. Which is the better preparation for a race? Come on give me a break. Any idiot knows which is the better way of doing it. I know that some horses travel better than others but even Thandolwami who slept the whole way up and arrived at 10/11am the morning of the race did not handle spending 1 night there when racing was postponed. I think it is great that Mentor won the race as he is a Natal based owner supporting a Natal based trainer.
