Spot on.....he also won 3 mets ........he wasn't a "miler" ,he was a champion
Similarly Horse Chestnut never lost over a mile ...........but could hardly be called a "miler"
In Full Flight and Elevation won group 1000m races immediately before winning July/Holiday Inns.........didn't mean they were sprinters.......lol

Too true.....still maintain had certain horses bolted from the gates in the met.....the winner does not beat the draw....he was allowed to canter from the gate and pass the entire field and get a position before the bend....did all this without being pressed .....back to the Derby....same thing.... if any horse pressed CN they may have run him out of a finish....CN over a mile lethal..... Martial Eagle imvho will battle to win a ten furlong against group company again....not based on pedigree but running style.....I thought that he ran out of his skin in the Queens plate and could not stay a true run 2000m....the met time although better than the Derby is still an average as they went slow in the 1st fraction then sped up in the 2nd and then slow on the 3rd and sped up to the line. Still a gr8 training feat to produce an unexposed 7yr old and have the gonads to go for a Group 1.but when you have the patronage where a result means more than a sum of expenses .....then no pressure at all.....Yogas will remain to be successful as there are still a few more gems that are waiting to shine....(tu)
