Race 8

Both of Milliers horses got backed on the tote.

no. 11. Backed from R12 to R5.80....a 50 percent drop.

No. 12. Backed from R16 to R12....a 25 percent drop.

Any idea how much was taken on the tote to result in such huge drops. I do not know, but I would like to know. Another money market I would like to understand. Is this any different to insider trading???

And they run 1st and 2nd....exacta, swinger, trifecta and quartet n the bag, with tote favourite running 4th.

And here we have the ignorant bread and butter punter, having filled in his betting ticket, based on what he saw as the betting, and marking his ticket before the start of the race, and then having to stand in a queue, to ensure he gets his bet on before the race starts, only for it to dawn on him that the betting has moved......so unfortunate for these punters, that they are not able to wait until the last minute to place their bets.

This may sound airy fairy, but imagine a system, where bets are allowed to be placed electronically, with the bet been registered as been taken off from a registered individuals account, but not yet put into the gambling pool. One way to do away with bookies?

At this stage we should have hopefully upgraded our starting stalls, twofold.

When the starter (a person of integrity, off course, no pun intended), hits that button to start the race, 2 things happen,

1) All betting transactions get transferred into betting pools, into the type of bet taken

2) All stalls open at the same time (amazing that with the available tech, we still cannot figure this out..makes you wonder)

I am allowed to dream.... Progress will not be made by accepting mediocrity. Acceptance of mediocrity stiffles progress.
