My philosophy on the Sand is I very seldom include a horse until they have run on the surface. It works for me more often than not.

Ja, I was only pulling your leg. I believe it will be in the first three, but would not banker a Spies horse if it was the only horse in the race.

You're both mad, Inn On The Square from the one draw will get handy if not lead and won't miss the first 3. :S

I tried to post about this horse this morning, but was told that a mod had to approve my post ??? Is this normal?

Now we have heard from a view of the experts (with hopefully Frodo, Loopy et all to come), here's a slightly different outlook, taken from (the distrusting of Vaal sand) pipe smoking idiot's balcony (not that I have a balcony but...). Please remember, I am hopelessly out of form and just getting involved for fun/interest :)

R1 Take your pin out, have a stab at the paper and start to praaaay!!!! Lovely Luline might be value.
R2 Shrek could be on to a good thing with his two PA nominations, I've also done 2 PAs and neither of his are included in my 4 selections out of the 7 runners! ::o I shall be ignoring the front three in the market for win purposes and having small wagers on, in order of preference, Tilbury, Eagle High and Lecture Queen.
R3 As mentioned by The Magician and others, I see Flo Jo as possible value, though its now had that many mentions the price may drop! Inn on the Square is the obvious one but I dislike horses that run second frequently. Has to be included in PAs imo but First Winter is the one that interested me most and Critical Wind is a ???
R4 Very tough imo. Of the more fancied runners I preferred Water Music but I shall be idioting with Moulin d'Or
R5 I like Solarium a lot. Right Beauty could be the upset horse and Prime Mover could make up a fairly decent trifecta.
R6 I like Uncle Tommy a lot too :) As an idiot bet, I will have a tiny wager on Star Dance but, I have always had a liking for the Elvis horse, Silver Specialist and would love to see it flying home from the back again. The distance appears a little short now but I shall be having a small interest in it.
R7 Another tough race. Gone with Berrymiller and the always disappointing Croke Park will have 2 pounds of mine every time until it wins!
R8 Not easy. Lusikisiki has obvious chances but I'm going to have a small flutter on Vivid which to me is quite good value.

Be(s)t of luck to all, especially Elvis and Oscar (tu)

In race 4 the two fancied runners ridden by two top jockeys and deadheated last time out ........... are drawn absolutely miles apart... :S ... the earlier races may well give us an indication of which one will come uptrumps. that race is NOT a betting proposition. Of course I am talking about Star Empress and Water Music.

Does look a 'punter friendly' card imo - but we all know that's when the big dogs arrive; I'm also taking 2 PA' and 2 PS's, trying to cover both outcomes; other thoughts:

R1: Where's that pin - best of luck oscar (tu)
R2: I have La Volta running to at least a 89 last time - yes it was on turf, but very capable on the sand as well and has improved a lot imo - hard to beat. Kinematic Countess and Club Captain the only dangers, it's possible that the blinkers has improved KC, so my choice for 2nd.
R3: Inn on the Square tries the blinkers, so she will either win by a street, or run unplaced. I agree with most on Flo Jo, who also now is running with blinkers - not sure that those are effective, but definitely better on the sand. Paris Wind and First Winter the unknowns, but either could easily pop up if IotS flops.
R4: Nothing betweem Star Empress and Water Music (SE drawn on the inside and WM on the outside) on their runs behind Sheri Baby, and Favourite Daughter only half a length back having clipped heels and stumbled, so not much between all 3. I'm with englander on the roughie, Moulin D'Or - has shown good pace over further on the turf and Spectrums nomally love the sand. Happy Place also unknown but if she takes to the sand, could easily be good enough in a weak field
R5: Solarium has found her niche and should prove hard to beat imo; I concur with most that Furious Dancer is good value at current odds having won 4 races over this 1000, so 2nd choice for me. I think Romeo's Reward and Hang Fire are not well in here, while Right Beauty and Prime Mover should find this too short
R6: I'm with most on Uncle Tommy, Killua Castle is definitely worth his rating, but his running style of coming from far back is not ideal on the sand imo - still needs inclusion though. The roughie to consider imo is Boy oh Boy - has been as high as a 100 (more thant 2 years ago though) and now runs off a 90 - fair draw and could make those trifectas and quartets pay. Can't find much else in the race - best of luck Elvis (but I think save your money for Tuesday night) (tu)
R7. More competitive, but still only a handful with realistic chances imo; IF Roll Call can find the form that saw him finish 3rd to Frontino Gold in a plated race 3 runs back, he will waltz in here, but he does seem to have his problems; Deigo improving steadily and could now prefer this trip - definite chance from a good draw imo, lots of money for Gemmayze Street, so needs to be included. Does look too far for Funny Glory, but the blinkers come off and with Striker back in the irons, cant be totally ignored.
R8: Lusikisiki looks the right one here - and not bad value at current odds imo. Dangers include Tawakul (if she takes to the sand), Waltzing Duel (has one 4 times over this trip - once also drawn very wide) and Arabian Storm (the 1.5 apprentice allowance could bring her closer to WD; Vivid a nice roughie to consider imo - much better than last run

Enjoy (tu)
