So u want mr Adams to take over....is he a businessman?you made the statement there are no businessmen in the WC board........You obviously also didn't do maths at school...only a 40% diff between stakes CT and KIMB......what u don't realize is if there is only R100 in the pot of stakes how do you pay out R200....?You punt more on Wc ,the turnover goes up ,the stakes go up in time.....plain and simple.
U shouldn't listen to rumours, your must get your facts right before talking a lot of bull.....more passion for racing here than anywhere......nothing to do with ego's......by the way what do u contribute to racing......?

How long you in partner ship and do nothing to improve what is happen there? Why you can't borrow against assets and do what you let phumelela want to do now on your own? I don't listen to rumor I here what is said in commission that the western cape do not have the expertise to run racing properly that is why you have the management deal with phumelela. Now you ask what I put in to racing, let me just say over 40 years I put in far to much so let's not get in the pissing competition it is time to move forward not look back wards

I started a topic to show a great prep race coming up in our season....quality racing!People like you take this opportunity to turn it into a mud slinging match....why not focus here on the race.....or can your brain not do that. You continually have a go at the system ,the horse, the management ,the jockey etc ....everything to do with racing but yet your contribute NOTHING bar the few rand you punt. There is a time and place for everything.....you are just like a lot of people here who continually slate WC racing but yet come up with nothing constructive to find a solution to solve the problems created here over many years. You listen to too many rumours and dont have the facts.....this isnt a quick fix ,we need a solution for the survival of racing. We would love to be on our own but its not economically viable at this stage. Will you ever have something constructive to contribute?Methinks not.....so in the meantime lets enjoy a great race on sunday.

finally mr braun, you do not now any thing about me so be care ful of making the assumption. just be cause you are heavily invest in this do not mean you have rights. all it show me at this stage is you have more money than brains. i now what i talk about i do the same 20 year ago

What crap. Stakes ONLY matter to owner/trnr/jock of first 4 across the line. Why would anyone else care, what does it matter to people on ABC if they don't own a horse?
It's a great race as it stands and it's a FACT that it's there. None of the owners want to race in Kim, or anywhere else. This is a game for rich people, what do the paupers give a crap about whats on the cheque? I do not understand. It's a democracy where feet is used for voting.
In the UK horses worth millions of POUNDS race for relatively less at 5x training fees. They own oil wells or banks..why worry?
There is no shortage of horses in the Cape so why insist on fixing what isn't broken.

Equus Horse of the Year Variety Club is to take on fellow champions Princess Victoria and Jackson in a clash of the titans at Kenilworth Racecourse on Sunday, 4 November 2012.
All three four-year-olds will have their first race of the season in the 1 400m Buy One Meal Get One Free Pinnacle Stakes with the filly receiving 3kg from the other two.
Brett Crawford has long been aiming to have Investec Cape Derby and Daily News winner Jackson (Karis Teetan) ready for this and Joey Ramsden confirmed Variety Club (Anton Marcus) a runner after working the Cape Premier Yearling Sales Guineas and Rising Sun Gold Challenge scorer at Kenilworth on Saturday.
He said: “Variety Club worked well over 1 200m and I also run Bravura (Glen Hatt) who worked over 1 800m that day.”
Glen Kotzen has had no hesitation in bringing four-time Grade 1 winner Princess Victoria to the party, saying: “She is in fantastic shape, doing great and Piere Strydom will ride.”
Last season’s Vodacom Durban July and L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate-winning jockey takes over from Marcus and follows the injured Andrew Fortune and Sean Cormack who both won Grade 1s on her.
Ebony Flyer was also entered for Sunday’s race but Justin Snaith has ruled her out, adding: “I’m battling to find suitable races.”

And to crown it all the Cape will be getting 5th place back from 7th November stakes....every bit helps to minimise the losses owners incurr on a monthly basis.....but some posters think its a get rich quick scheme....

I know it's easy to sit on the side lines and shout but what does anyones contribution have to do with whether their opinion has merit.
This is a public forum for racing fans to express their 2 cents worth. We all know Ettiene u contribute big time and racing needs many more people like you. Its good that you come on the site and give an insiders perspective on things, which helps us fans and punters understand the picture a bit better.
Flash likes to stir the pot and create debate and sometimes he does have good points. My humble advice is don't take anyone here too seriously and always play the ball and not the man, regardless of what anyone else does.

I'm far from rich, and we have two riding horses. It may not be much in the big world, but it costs us a fair bit, travelling, competing, equipment and whatnot. But it's not for the money. IF the primary object to own a horse is to make money....well, good luck with that.
HERE is the test: if we doubled the stakes in the Cape from tomorrow....what is it that we have fixed? How have you saved racing? Other than making it more comfortable for some owners, jocks and trainers, you have done zip.
I know Hotline very well, he is as sick for racing as anyone. Yes, I wish he could race for more money. But he's not a problem for racing.
If I hear these idiots on telly track come up with another scheme to help me sell horses as a breeder, or find more owners, ....I will have to ask HOW have they helped racing? Let breeders figure out how to sell their horses, let owners decide how much to pay and where to race with whomever. Getting the poor punter to fund the show...that's the problem to fix!!
