When the olympians left, the sports minister said they are expecting 12 medals...........it would be nice to know who they expected to get medals. Then lets start slating those ppl that never got what the sports minister expected. Congrats Caster on a great achievement, especially seen that it is soooo early in your career.

I heard on course that Chippy has a new nickname after his ride in the 2nd? Chippy "Caster" Taylor after coming from way last and flying at the end to run 2nd!;)

yes agree, I think she needs slightly further, she has a late energy spurt/stamina. I wonder how she would fare over 1500

sprinter's build yes I agree - I do think however if the race had another 200m (1000m) she would have beaten the russian, notwithstanding the 800m is a middle distance but if taken at a fast pace early, it becomes a long sprint rather than middle distance, and for a true middle distance runner an early fast pace is a killer - perhaps this is what got to Caster
