There can be many reasons for this...
Arlington is a very tight turn for a horse 1st time around.
Another reason is being crowded as the turn starts
A fright from Kickback in loose going
Clipping heels in front Or getting cut into from behind
Getting bumped into the rail and over-reacting or correcting

Other extremes are bridles that are too hard/soft
Knocking their joints going into a turn
Mouth or soundness issues (back, legs or shoulders)
Bad habits

It was totally out of character for this horse and he will bounce back
Soon

also remember that the commentator has less time than we do to react to a situatiin as he has to look over 10-16 horses when a race is on.

Thanks Chippy. Yes all makes sense.
I remember re the commentator and despite my regular criticism of them, I actually think I cut them a lot of slack... in this case the horse caused a lot of problems and was favourite and was not mentioned. Very poor imho. They have all week to study for these races Chippy and sometimes it seems to me they only look at the card the morning of the races. Not very professional. Anyway, best not get me started on a moan-roll... Thanks again for all your advices (tu)
