Maybe a different kettle of fish, something to do with authority to act and prior agreement to act in the capacity or on behalf of..... Also could stem from the way an official hearing was handled and I could be speaking out of turn but a horse trained by Paul Peter returned a positive while it was racing in Natal.....now if at a hearing the trainer says he was not physically in charge or with the horse then by such admission he was not acting within the rules....when you stable with another training yard you are to provide your own HHA registered staff and not have the trainer you are stabling with train and care for horses that have not been officially transferred.

" Protectionism"

" Sheltered Employment"

In a global economy , Provincialism is so outdated.

Going to sit back and read the posts from the guys who have no idea what they are talking about, from some who have some idea and the posts from those who do know and then reply. Tired of replying to every silly idea and post each time they are posted. Waste of my time and effort. I will say for now that this GC board was elected to look after the interests of Natal owners and Trainers and not anyone else! They, the Owners and Trainers have supported GC through the bad times and now that things are turning around, everyone wants a piece of the cake. Where were most of them when things were not great? Plattner, Kotzen and Tarry excluded. Thats me now just going to sit back and read what everyone writes.

Using the province and the country's biggest race day as an example, KZN trainers are no longer competitive. The last time a KZN trainer proper won the July was 20 yrs ago, Dennis Drier and Spanish Galliard.

It's hard to imagine how battling trainers like D.G.Rich [Lightning Shot], Pat Antelme [Gondolier] and Gail Thompson [Jamaican Rumba] managed to capture wins in the July.

Now the Browns have raided overseas successfully and they should perhaps try and put the name on the July honors roll, I would like to add Craig and Alistair and Tony Rivalland. Can remember Tony jumping up and down when they beat Wolf Power into 4th place in Champion Stakes at Greyville when he was with the Passmores.[Horse was Dolly Jones?]

How high will he jump if winning the July?

Clearly trainers can't share yards for the integrity of the sport, and that has nothing to do with Durban trainers.

But it's always disappointing to have the KZN attitude of old rear it's ugly head... that same unsportsmanlike attitude is always around.
PE takes on all-comers, and hats off to them. It makes them stronger in the end I believe.

But perhaps the fact that another July that has just gone by with only one real KZN horse making the cut, that attitude is inevitable.

@ Pirates

I am not really sure on that one but I know it was one of those Emperor Jones cheapies.I wonder if Tony remembers, the Passmore horse ran 3rd with Wolf Power a shrt-head behind in 4th.

....Storm in a tea cup..... and has nothing to do with raiding trainers as Rivelland Drer and Brown others have all been up to Joburg and boxed at Turffies.....it's about the Garden course being sold and no proposal for the provision of additional stabling for "seasonal" trainers....f@rkem a plan can be made . If you can have a horse sale at a casino..... you can erect those boxes anywhere.....

I was going to stay out until the end but just to stop an extra 20 or so posts going completely in the wrong direction I will say this. Multiman, it has nothing to do with the amount of boxes or sale of Clairwood as there will ALWAYS be boxes(100 or so ) avaiable for the July season.
