Not sure how 'final' these selections are with more than w eek to go, but after having a look at the weights and taking into consideration how I think the race will be run, I think Jackson will repeat his dad's feat from a slightly better draw. There is some form to suggest that Vettel and Whiteline Fever could finish in front of the mighty J, but I don't think Vettel is going to get an easy lead and will struggle to quicken off the pace, so Whiteline Fever looks the main danger to me - IF he gets the trip.

From a P6 point of view on the day, one can't ignore the chances of the Bass coupling, as both English Garden and Chesalon should at least feature in the finish - I may of course end up with egg over face again, but imo none of de Kock's horses will feature - Solo Traveller has lots to find imo, Gorongosa is at best over 3000+ and Ilha Bela will struggle with the short run-in - but maybe Vettel could prove me wrong, get to the front and hang on for a place.

Pierre Jourdan finished in front of English Garden last year, and if he is still the horse he was (and I think he is), he should beat EG again - but a tough ask to win with top weight imo.

I think Beach Beauty may struggle to get that last 200m at the weights while Smanjemanje, Tales of Bravery and Castlethorpe have real doubts over the 2200m; most of the others look held to me; so it's Jackson or Whiteline Fever for me, followed by Pierre Jourdan, English Garden and Chesalon.

Things can go wrong for Jackson ala Black Caviar but where in the formbook do Vettel and Whitelinw Fever stand any chance of beating Jackson? According to the formbook there is only 1 winner. Now there might be other bets worth taking but if he gets beat it will be against the formbook.

We all see what we want to see I suppose, but on the Daily News run, WF is 4 kg's better off with J for a 4.5 length beating - now I know the feeling is that J had plenty in hand, but imo it is also possible that WF has improved since that run - and he has the draw - so it defies all logic imo that J should be 2/1 and Vettel 7/1 with WF 20/1 (or whatever it is) - clear to me where the value lies - but I am worried that WF may not stay the trip

Agree with most of your comments.
greyville is a specialist course, narrow and with 20 runners in the rce as usually.
Luck in running will play a huge part.
I am still going with Ihla Bela . My selection has nothing to do with form.

Suggestion clan, seeing that the July card is out and there are 12 races to study, some may have studied a race or two or more, can we start a thread for Greyville, Saturday, 07/07, being fairly new to ABC, i would feel more comfortable if an "older" clan member started the thread, thanks.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
