Liquidity is 100% right ... Scottsville is "my" course and I've been going there all my adult life. And (boast, boast!) I rarely go away with less cash than I took to the course.
Watch out for horses that don't stay or that only just get the distance they are running over. In a 1000m race go for something that has won over 1200m, and you'll improve your chances. Of course there are no guarantees, some horses are outmatched and some don't have the guts to do those last 2 uphill furlongs, but I'm talking averages.
It's not just the last 400 m either ... there's a long downhill stretch from the starting gate (in sprints). Horses are tempted to dash here - or have to to keep in touch with the pack - and many of them run out of puff and get one-paced when they find themselves labouring up that hill.

L and M, I am with you, I like Scottsville. Had more winners there and at Greyville than Clairwood. Not sure why but was the same when I was with Alistair. Possibly have to be fitter and be able to handle the undulations.

the best horses will win at clairwood as with a long back straight and long home straight and the width of the track there are seldom very few excuses...greyville if you not drawn well and if the false rail is not way out you have very little chance of winning as you are always on a turn ....the less i say about scotsville the better but the names goat and graveyard have been used by many for its description ..from aspectator point of view scotsville is a disgrace with the majority watching on tv monitors

For trying to win against the boys, thinking she is good enough to beat them
if it was my horse, i would have kept her against the girls
Maybe they thot the boys race was easier then drew bad
Franny did beat her easily in jhb, but seems 1000m is Frannys game
